Accounting.
Accounting is the foundation on which sound decisions, strong governance, and long-term sustainability are built.
Alongside my speaking and advisory work, I run an accounting and advisory practice supporting individuals, SMEs, and organisations operating in complex and evolving environments. My work spans accounting, audit, tax, and financial reporting, but my focus goes beyond compliance to one central question: does the financial information genuinely support good decision-making?
In practice, I work with clients to bring clarity to their financial position, strengthen governance, and ensure that financial systems are fit for purpose. This includes helping organisations move from fragmented or reactive financial processes to structures that are consistent, transparent, and aligned with their objectives.
Over time, this work has revealed a consistent pattern. Financial difficulties rarely arise because information is unavailable; they arise because systems are poorly designed, incentives are misaligned, or decisions are made without sufficient clarity. Accounting, when done well, reduces uncertainty and creates the conditions for better choices.
This ongoing professional practice keeps my broader work grounded in reality. It ensures that my thinking on financial literacy, behaviour, and digital change is informed not by theory alone, but by continuous exposure to real businesses, real constraints, and real consequences.
